Kalana is a young lutung (leaf monkey) who becomes separated from his troop due to a devastating natural disaster. Rescued and raised by an old man, Kalana learns how to live with manners and values rooted in Indonesian culture. After the old man's passing, Kalana embarks on a journey to find his original family. Guided by the wisdom and teachings left by his guardian, Kalana sets off into the world, where he meets human friends who were raised in modern, global cultures—far removed from the traditions Kalana knows. Their backgrounds may be worlds apart, but their friendship grows as they face conflicts and challenges together in the search for Kalana’s true habitat. Through music, dance, and dialogues that intertwine various languages and cultural expressions, this musical drama illustrates how Kalana and his friends come to realize that family is not merely defined by blood, but by the bonds of heart, respect, and shared experiences
