Hi, my name is Ongly, lulusan kedokteran hewan. Jujur, muak denger berita ttg lingkungan akhir2 ini. My little campaign may not have a huge impact, but we have to ACT NOW, one step at a time.

Growing up in Indonesia, we are no strangers to economic inequality and environmental devastation around us. It’s time for us to do something about it. My humble shop SukuZuku purchase from local craftsmen and women,supporting them and their families. Our partnership with Lindungihutan allows us to replant trees lost due to deforestation, empowering farmers and returning habitat to the animals who lost them.
Let us introduce you to Mr. Ihwanudin. He is a farmer in Bedono Village, located on the north coast of Central Java, where most of the population has low education and relies on the land and sea for a living. But for a long time, they could only watch as their village slowly sink due to abrasion and tidal floods.
Though most have left and fled the now-submerged land, Mr. Ihwanudin and his family stayed to protect their homeland. Mangroves reduce CO2 in the atmosphere, acting as a natural barrier for the land and protecting it from further abrasions and floods. Locally, they serve as a habitat for 2 species of floras, 64 species of birds, 8 species of mammals, and 3 species of reptiles, 12 of which are at high risk of extinction. Please help us prevent further land loss and let us create homes for Indonesian families and our flora and fauna.

Dalam 10-20 tahun terakhir, pengikisan daratan oleh air laut terus terjadi di Desa Bedono, Demak, Jawa Tengah. Hingga saat ini 200 rumah penduduk tenggelam akibat abrasi tersebut. Warga terpaksa kehilangan mata pencaharian sebagai nelayan dan merelokasi tempat tinggalnya.

Namun, keluarga Mak Jah memutuskan untuk tetap tinggal di Desa Bedono dan melakukan penanaman untuk memulihkan lingkungan. Pada tahun 2017, LindungiHutan hadir untuk mendukung semangat Mak Jah dalam menanam pohon. Pohon mangrove terus ditanam untuk menghijaukan kembali Desa Bedono dan mencegah abrasi meluas.
